Ion Hagiu
Ioan (or Ion) Hagiu is a Romanian teacher and folk musician who participated in the folk and pop show Cenaclul Flacăra, founded in 1973 by the Romanian poet Adrian Păunescu (1943–2010). Hagiu's most famos song is Căciula (watch video), about the traditional Romanian hat*.
* Sheepskin hats worn in winter all over Romania and the Republic of Moldova, Bucovina in Ukraine and other surrounding countries (where Romanians live). Fur hats are made by furriers and are most often black, although white căciulă are worn in parts of Banat and grey (RO: brumărie) in central and north Moldavia.
