Kristy Lee Cook is an American singer. She was born on January 18. 1984 in Seattle, Washington.
She signed her first contract with BMI in 2001, when she was 17 years old; Britney Spears agreed to make a cameo appearance in her first music video. According to her RMG page, Cook was signed to RCA Records/Arista Nashville in 1999 and the first artist signed to Spears' production company. RCA put Cook, along with other younger artists, on hold and eventually dropped her.
In 2005, she released her debut album Devoted under Ren-Hen Records. She was also the lead singer at Cowboys in Arlington, Dallas and San Antonio, Texas for two years.
She was also a finalist on the seventh season of American Idol, where she was voted off the program on April 16, 2008. She is not related to fellow Idol contestant David Cook.
