About

Hinder is an American hard rock/post-grunge band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma that was formed in 2001 by drummer Cody Hanson, guitar player Joe "Blower" Garvey, and Singer Austin Winkler.

They released their first EP titled "Far From Close" on and independent record label, Brickden Records. It sold about 5,000 copies. The three members then began working on new material in 2004 for their next independent release. These demos caught the attention of several major record labels.

Hinder entered the rock scene with their debut single "Get Stoned". The band then toured in support of their album, Extreme Behavior. The band's second single, "Lips of an Angel", did far better on the charts, hitting #1 on several, and garnered international attention. "Lips of an Angel" is now being covered by country artist Jack Ingram.

The band's third single from their debut album is "How Long". The fourth single is "Better Than Me".

As of July 2007, Hinder is headlining the "Bad Boys of Rock" tour, also featuring Buckcherry and Papa Roach. On July 14th, the tour made Chesaning Showboat history, when the word "fuck" was used for the first time on stage.

This event in Showboat history was announced to the audience, after Buckcherry played their set. The band played three dates with the mega rock band Aerosmith in December 2006.

Hinder was most recently the closing act in Singapore at music festival SingFest on 9 August 2007. Some songs among in the band's 45-minute set: How Long, Homecoming Queen and Bliss.
