Uroš Umek was born in 1976 in Ljubljana, Slovenia better known as DJ Umek, is a Slovenian techno-music composer and DJ.

He is perhaps the most famous Slovenian techno artist. Most of his early tracks were named after medicines or other substances. Umek is one of the most instantly recognizable names in electronic music.

After countless EPs, a large number of anthems and a reputation as an innovator, he has risen to the top of the Techno pile and is considered by most as a techno legend. Recently he has shifted his style into more electro house style which has open the doors for him to reach the wider audience.

In 2006 he released a single "Posing as me" which was a big hit in Slovenia and in 2007 another video supported project with a Croatian singer and lyrics writer Andja Carbon Occasions.
