Eric Benét Jordan was born in 1966, October 15, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Benet is the youngest of five siblings.
Benét's father loved classical music and inspired an interest in music in his son.
Soon, Eric had formed a vocal group with his sister and cousin called "Benét." Eric went out as a solo artist shortly afterward, signing to Warner Bros. and releasing his debut album, True to Myself, in the fall of 1996.
He has one daughter, India (born 1992) with girlfriend Tami Stauff. At 25-year old Tami was killed in a car accident on April 24, 1993.
He won 3 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards at 20th anniversary ceremony.
Benét has also been active as an actor; he had a recurring role on the television program For Your Love (1998 - 2002). He made his film debut in Glitter (2001). |
