Fuego is a Romanian singer. His real name is Paul Surugiu. He is one of the most known singers of Latino music.
Paul Surugiu became Fuego when his ex-girlfriend selected 50 Spanish words and gave them to him. With the eyes closed, Romanian singer selected the word “fuego” and such way singer changed his name.
Although he wanted to study theology, Paul Surugiu graduated the Faculty of Theatre, at the Ecologic University. During his studies at the university, he followed particularly canto courses.
At the festival “Slagarul de aur” in Minsc, Byelorussia he was awarded with “Trofeul de cristal”. He took the second place at the “Aurelian Andreescu” Festival. He was gave the prize for the best voice of the year, granted by the Foundation for the Youth. In 2000 he was granted with the prize for the best album of carols “Spre rai” (Towards the paradise).
Fuego released the following albums: “Ole Ola” – 2000, “Poveste de iubire” (Love story) – 2001, “E vremea colindelor” (Its time for the carols) – 2003, “Sfinta seara de Craciun” (Christmas hallowed evening) – 2004.
