Darkane (formerly known as Agretator) is a heavy metal band from Helsingborg, Sweden.

Its style has ranged from thrash metal through death metal and is known for adding symphonic elements to its music, such as full orchestras, choir singing, and acoustic interludes. The name Darkane is a portmanteau of the words "dark" and "arcane".

After the addition of singer Andreas Sydow the band released two other mind-boggling albums: "Insanity" and "Expanding Senses". Never before you heard such a unique mixture of technique, brutality, wickedness and musicality.

After three years of silence, it is finally time to get loud again! "Layers Of Lies" will crush the ears of every listener. Darkane manages to combine the attitude of "Rusted Angel" with the progress of "Expanding Senses" creating a powerful masterpiece in dynamic, technically oriented heavy Thrash Metal with more rage and fury than any Death Metal band.
