Colbie Caillat is an American acoustic-folk singer-songwriter from Malibu, California. She was born in 1985 in Newbury Park, California.
Colbie is daughter to Diane Caillat and Ken Caillat, record producer known for working with Fleetwood Mac. Colbie's father has also helped produce her music.
Caillat's debut album, “Coco”, was released on July 17, 2007. With tracks like "The Little Things", "Feelings Show", and "Bubbly", “Coco” reached number one on the iTunes chart; it also debuted at no five on the Billboard 200, selling about 51,000 copies in its first week. Her single, "Bubbly" was also Single of the Week for iTunes. On October 2, 2007, “Coco”, was certified Gold by the RIAA.
She is noted for her MySpace profile which led her to become the number one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song "Bubbly". Her profile has garnered over 25 million plays.
