Lee DeWyze wins 'American Idol' video
The final show on American Idol gathered a lot of emotions for the two finalists and guests.
The two finalists Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze were within a 2 percent margin before they performed Tuesday and viewers made their final decision, Seacrest said on Wednesday night's show.
“It’s OK to put yourself out there and to take risks. Before all this I wasn’t always open to big risks like this, and now I’m just like ... I’m going to run with it. And you only live once,” DeWyze said.
Seacrest, the show's host, noted Simon Cowell was making his final appearance as an "American Idol" judge, which prompted Randy Jackson to stand and applaud Cowell. A film tribute to the sharp-tongued Brit followed.
Kris Allen, last year's winner, took a turn on stage to perform "The Truth."
Other star performing on the show were: Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and Kelly Clarkson.
