Leona Lewis beats off the Christmas tracks

Leona Lewis remains the dominant force on the UK charts yet again tonight (December 9) as she holds onto the Number One single and album spots for yet another week.

The single 'Bleeding Love' remains at the top of the UK charts for a seventh week, at a time when few new entries are able to penetrate the higher reaches of the singles chart.

Arctic Monkeys have a new entry at number 20 with 'Teddypicker', while the Pogues classic Christmas hit 'Fairytale of New York' climbs 21 places this week, peaking just outside the top 10 at number 12. Mariah Carey gets a Christmas boost as well, with her track 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' climbing from number 23 to number eight.

Meanwhile, on the album charts, there is very little activity at all, with Lewis holding on for fourth week with her album 'Spirit'. Westlife climbed one place to number two with their new album 'Back Home', which in turn pushes Shayne Ward down one place to number three with his album 'Breathless'.
