Melanie Brown: 'Dancing' was 'a huge thing' While Indy driver Helio Castroneves takes home the Dancing With the Stars Season 5 prize, runner-up Melanie Brown still has reason to celebrate.

"I feel like I've accomplished a huge thing in my life — juggling motherhood, Spice Girls concert rehearsals and this," said Brown, also known as Scary Spice. "My new goal now is kicking off a great Spice Girls concert tour. I want Maks (dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy) at every one. He's coming to Vegas and New York and hopefully others."

Brown was beaten by Castroneves, who took home the trophy with now two-time winner and pro dancer Julianne Hough. In Season 4, Hough danced with Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno, the eventual champion.

"What is amazing to me, you've taken a risk every time you've danced," said head judge Len Goodman.

Brown and Chmerkovskiy were slight front-runners going into the finale, scoring 85 out of 90 points to Castroneves' and Hough's 84. Their final dance, a mambo, drew a perfect 30.

But the couple apparently gathered fewer votes from fans, who account for 50% of dancer scores.
