New Godsmack album trips down memory lane
Compiling a greatest hits album for Boston hard rockers Godsmack was a joy for front man Sully Erna.
"It was fun," said Erna, who produced the new "Good Times, Bad Times ... Ten Years of Godsmack." "It's kinda cool to look down memory lane and listen to some of these songs. ... I haven't heard in awhile, and I'm like, 'Oh, wow ...' Of course it brings back a lot of memories for us, good and bad times.
"I think that just became the whole theme for the record."
The album includes on new track, a recording of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times, Bad Times."
Godsmack is on hiatus. Erna said he planned to start recording his first solo album in the spring of 2008, while his bandmates have formed a side project called Another Animal. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
