Ricky Martin defends Madonna
Pop star Ricky Martin has hit out at press for criticizing Madonna's adoption of 13-month-old DAVID BANDA, insisting she's an "exemplary" mother and an inspiration for others thinking of adoption - including him, says The Associated Press.
The Latino singer, who is an ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), is desperate to be a dad and can't understand why the MUSIC hitmaker's moves to adopt in Malawi has caused such outrage.
Ricky Martin says, "I know Madonna as a mother, and she's exemplary. The love she gives her kids is a dream, and I know that her heart is big enough to adopt not just one child but to adopt 20." On his own aspirations to adopt, he says, "I don't know when, but right now I am sponsoring three children in India and we have a very beautiful connection."
Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie were granted interim adoption of David Banda last week.
