Seal: I sang for Barrack Obama
Seal released his collection of covers, titled 'Soul,' this week, but it was an album that wouldn't be without legendary singer Sam Cooke, producer David Foster and President Elect Barack Obama, PopEater informs.
"I was inspired because I heard 'A Change is Gonna Come,' sung by the great Sam Cooke, and it resonated with me. It felt more poignant now than it did perhaps when it was written some 45 years ago, and it was a message I felt people had to hear. My original intention was just to call David Foster up, record the song, get a film made -- which I did -- and just put that song out as a contribution to the people. But after we did it, David said, 'Look, you were meant to sing these songs. We can't stop here.' Three weeks later we had an album," the singer said.
Seal can't wait to share the story with his kids.
"I am so proud that I have American children, who now when they grow up, I will tell them that I was there, that I was part of that, that I sang for Senator Obama. I sang for the man that would be president. I was hugged by that man," he said.
