'Spirit' is new fastest-selling U.K. album

"Spirit," which comes from last year's winner of "The X Factor," sold 375,872 copies -- roughly 200 per minute -- during its first week in release, The Times of London reported Monday.
Lewis' album ranked No. 1 on the U.K. album charts, beating out "The Spice Girls' Greatest Hits," which came in at No 2.
The previous record for fastest-selling debut album was held by Arctic Monkeys for their disc "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not," which sold 363,735 copies in its first week in January last year, the newspaper said. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
