Heather Mills is set to hit US television - as a judge on the Miss USA pageant, relates Daily Star. The one-legged charity campaigner will reportedly help pick the beauty most deserving of the Miss USA crown.
The competition, often surrounded in controversy, is scheduled to take place on April 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ex-model, who lost a leg after she was hit by a police motorcycle in 1993, surprised the audience by performing lifts and back flips with partner Jonathan Roberts. The pair were eventually eliminated in the sixth week of the contest, in April 2007.
This week Mills was awarded almost $50 million in her divorce from ex-hubby Paul McCartney. The amputee had been after around $250 million from the ex-Beatle, while he offered her a mere $31.6 million.
A divorce case judge eventually awarded Mills $33 million in cash, $15.6 million in assets and payments of $70,000 a year in child support.
The judge made a scathing public judgment in the bitter divorce battle and described Mills as a “less than impressive witness” who indulged in “make belief”.
The animal rights activist has now hired high profile US lawyer Gloria Allred to help her image in the United States.
The attorney said she was “honoured to represent Ms. Mills because she respects Ms. Mills’ courage throughout her difficult and painful divorce”.
