Britney Spears has reportedly donated $25,000 to charity after watching the show Idol Gives Back on television and being moved by the plight of African children.

The troubled singer has been noticeably quiet recently, but it seems she is getting her life back in order by helping those in need.

A member of the Spears family confessed to Life & Style about her charitable giving: “She did it all on her own. She watched the show and cried for like two hours over the children in Africa with malaria.”

“She didn’t know much about the disease, so she Googled it. She was horrified to realize kids were dying from mosquito bites.

“So she went online and donated after getting [her dad] Jamie's permission. She used her Amex.”// entertainmentwise.com
