Kylie Minogue's best efforts to crack the American market have come to little - with her latest disc failing to crack the top 100.

The Wow singer released her 10th studio album X in America on April 1, but it has sold just 5500 copies and limped into the Billboard chart at number 139.

The 39-year-old star – who has enjoyed huge success throughout the rest of the world – launched a major charm offensive in a bid to succeed Stateside this month and appeared on several high-profile TV shows.

She performed her new single All I See in a raunchy bondage-style outfit on Dancing with the Stars and told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres her breast cancer had initially been misdiagnosed by doctors.                                                  

But Kylie has admitted cracking America is a daunting task.

Kylie is not the first music star big in the UK to flop in the US.
