Heather Mills is planning a holiday for herself and 25 friends on Richard Branson’s Necker Island at a cost of $48,000 a night, according to US reports.
The former glamor model, 40, has told her pals it’s her way of saying thank you for their “unfaltering support” during her divorce battle with Sir Paul McCartney.
Heather, who won a $48.6m divorce settlement from the former Beatle, told friends she had to remortgage one of her homes to pay for the luxury seven-night holiday.
A source said: “Heather was insistent she wanted somewhere she couldn’t be photographed.
“She didn’t care about the cost… all that mattered was they’d be completely alone. She said she was going to remortgage one of her houses to pay for it, although no one believed that for a moment. There’s no doubt this is all down to the Macca millions she’s about to collect.”
And although she’s yet to receive her divorce settlement, “She felt, ‘Why should I wait for the money to come through’ and just booked it,” said the friend. “She knows she’s not  exactly going to be scraping for cash in a few months.”
“All the staff were really thrilled and Heather made a big thing about how much money she was spending,” said the source.
The final cost of Heather’s holiday is a reported $500,000. |
