After wtaking attention and affection of millions of people and fans on "American Idol", Ruben Studdard decided to give his heart to one woman this weekend, informs AP.

As it was confirmed to The Associated Press, a representative of music show "American Idol" affirms that the talented Studdard, aged 29 years old plans a Saturday wedding. He and girlfriend Surata Zuri McCants, age of 30, took out a marriage license on Monday, according to court records.

The Birmingham native, nicknamed the "Velvet Teddy Bear" on the show for his big frame and sonorous voice, has released three albums since his 2003 win, including the platinum CD "Soulful." He is working on a new album.
