Paris Bennett a talented former of American Idol is expecting her first child, her representative has confirmed in a statement to People magazine.
The 19-year-old, who competed in the fifth season of the TV singing competition, will throw a baby shower in August of 2008 year before welcoming the tot later this year, according to People.com.
The teen's mother, Jamecia Bennett, tells Minnesota newspaper the Minneapolis Star Tribune the father "chooses not to be in the public eye" but confirms that the singer plans to marry and "has a ring". 
Bennett finished in fifth place in the show's 2006 series, and released her debut album Princess P the following year in 2007.
