Lil Jon and the Orchard have announced a content partnership deal
|
Lil Jon and the Orchard have announced a content partnership deal, reports Billboard. This partnership will include brand marketing and A&R direction. The move follows the Orchard's June purchased TVT Records, where Lil Jon was previously signed.
Speaking to the same source Lil Jon says "I walked into the Orchard and came away with the sweet taste of freedom!"
He added "Others talk, the Orchard does. I expect to do great things with them, and look forward to my future."
Lil Jon recently withdrew his multi-million-dollar objection to the TVT sale proceedings and agreed to TVT's transfer of his artist agreement to the Orchard. In turn, the Orchard has released Lil Jon from all future obligations under his previous TVT contract and agreed to give him the rights to his master recordings for his oft-album LP, "Crunk Rock."
Meanwhile, Lil Jon will contribute to the Orchard's Brand Entertainment group by working with agencies to develop lifestyle-oriented marketing and promotion programs. The MC/producer will also offer A&R and production support to The Orchard’s artists and labels.
Lil Jon's last album, 2004's "Crunk Juice," has sold 2.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. |
