Even if she raised the disscution and controversy for its faux-lesbian lyrics, Katy Perry stayed at the top of the single chart with "I kissed a girl", according to BBC news.
Katy Perry's criticized song is follwed by Kid Rock's "All summer Long" single, it knocked back to number two. This week Dizzee Rascal toped the numebr three with "Dance wiv me", dancing near the fans all the week.
Number four is scored by Script with "The Man Who Can't Be Moved", while The Verve marked the highest new entry at five with "Love Is Noise".
Katy Perry's debut single brings her success, in a statement to BBC, Rolling Stone said the star, a former gospel singer, "sounds like the type who makes out with her best friend just to get a dude's attention".
But the song was precision-targeted at the top of the charts - Perry shares writing credits with Max Martin (Britney Spears' Baby... One More Time), Dr Luke (Sugababes' About You Now) and British singer-songwriter Cathy Dennis (Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out Of My Head).
Dennis said it was "a bit of a shock" to find out she had scored another number one record, but added she "couldn't be happier" for Perry. |
