Just weeks after US singer Gwen Stefani covered up for a concert in Malaysia amid a furore over revealing outfits, her compatriot Beyonce is facing similar calls, informs AFP.
Beyonce is due to play Muslim-majority Malaysia in November, but will have to tone down her midriff-flaunting tops and thigh-skimming skirts, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.
It quoted concert organiser Razlan Ahmad Razali, who said that the singer would show less flesh than usual.
Malaysian authorities last year fined a music promoter 10,000 ringgit (2,700 dollars) for organising a Pussycat Dolls concert considered too raunchy.
Michael Jackson and Linkin Park concerts have also upset the National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students, who fear that such concerts could erode Muslim values and corrupt the country's youth.
