Fans recently targeted by Prince's attorneys are even more puzzled after the enigmatic U.S. pop star responded with a new song about the situation.
Creators of online fan sites dedicated to Prince have said his newest song, "PFUnk," only adds another layer of confusion to the growing fight between them and the Minneapolis native's lawyers, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Sunday.
"Yeah, it's a great song," said Ben Margolin, who was forced to edit his fan Web site Prince.org as part of a recent legal action.
"But I don't know what to make of it," he added. "We're trying to have a legal discussion and he responds with a seven-minute funk jam."
Born Prince Rogers Nelson, the "Purple Rain" star had attorneys contact fan Web site founders last week to have them remove specific media content about the singer.
The newspaper said that while Margolin and many of his online brethren immediately capitulated to Prince's legal demands, Prince began streaming "PFUnk" on several online sites as an apparent response to the situation. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
