Amy Winehouse has been watching Marilyn Monroe movies in rehab.

The troubled star - who entered London's Capio Nightingale Hospital last week after footage of her smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine was released - is a huge fan of the 50s icon and is using her films to help her through her battle with drugs.

Amy's dad Mitch said: "Amy is very ill and is suffering horrific withdrawal symptoms - shivering and constantly throwing up. Her body is expelling all the rubbish. "One thing helping Amy is her Marilyn Monroe films. Amy loves 'Some Like It Hot'.

She's a huge fan of Monroe and thinks she's wonderful." Monroe tragically died at the age of 36 after overdosing on sleeping pills. Mitch also revealed he hasn't seen Amy yet because doctors aren't sure if she is ready for visitors.

He added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Amy is battling bravely against addiction. She's had no visitors because we didn't want her to get emotional. Hopefully doctors will let us see her today (29.01.08). "She's compliant and follows everything they tell her."

However, if Amy - whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently in prison awaiting trial for charges of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice - decides to leave the clinic against doctors wishes she could face being sectioned. The Mental Health Act says a patient can be held if two doctors and a close relative feel they are a threat to themselves.
