The organizers of the Eurovision International Song Contest 2008 are offering tickets for the two semi-finals and the final, which are to be held in Belgrade. The citizens of other states, rather than of Serbia, are welcome to purchase the tickets on-line, since January 31.
The price is “amazingly low for Eurovision”, the organizers say. Thus, on May 20 and, respectively, 22, the semi-finals are available at a price of about 20 USD, and the final, on May 24, at a price from 25 to 90 USD. In the first two days of sales, between January 29 and 30, the citizens of Serbia were favoured.
The following countries will perform in the first semi-final: Montenegro, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Poland, Bosnia Herzegovina, Estonia, Holland, Romania, Moldova, San Marino, Slovenia, Norway, Belgium, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. The participants of the second semi-final are: Croatia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Portugal, Ukraine, Switzerland, Macedonia, Island, Cyprus, Leetonia, Belarus, Hungary, Albania, Sweden, Turkey, Lithuania, Georgia, Czech Republic and Malta.
Eurovision is being organized annually, since 1956. Currently, Serbia is housing this song contest for the first time, having won the right after their participant Marija Sherifovic took the first place at the 2007 contest, in Finland.
The 53-rd edition of Eurovision Song Contest 2008 will take place on May 24, in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. The order of the performers will be determined additionally, at random. The winners both in categories, and of the whole contest, will be determined, by tradition, according to the balance of the TV spectators’ voting. The participants will perform in the greatest concert hall from the Balcans - Arena of Belgrade, able to house about 20 thousand spectators. In Moldova, the show will be live broadcasted by TeleRadio Moldova public company.
Last year, the representative of Moldova, Natalia Barbu won the tenth place in the great final.
The national final of the contest will take place on February 9, at the National Palace from Chisinau, where 12 performers will display their talent.
