Janet Jackson, award winning actress? Sure. She can lay claim to the title, now that she's won the NAACP Image Award for outstanding supporting actress in a motion picture. 

She wins for her work in the Tyler Perry film "Why Did I Get Married." In the process, she beat out another musician turned actress, Queen Latifah as well as veteran actress Ruby Dee. Jackson says she is "really overwhelmed" by the award.
