Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’ have come first and second in a new poll of the best British albums of all time.
The Manchester groups’ releases beat Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’ into third spot in the poll, which was compiled by the retailer HMV.
The top-ten also included two albums, ‘Revolver’ and ‘Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band’, by the Beatles, which were voted at number four and six respectively.
Elsewhere, the Stones Roses self-titled album was voted at number five, while The Clash’s ‘London Calling’ came in at number seven.
The countdowns most recent entry was ‘Under The Iron Sea’ by Keane, which was voted at number eight.
The Beatles were the most popular band among voters, with a total of five albums featuring in the top-fifty, while two other albums by Oasis also featured. |
